What is Myofascial Pilates?
Myofascial Pilates is a unique whole body strength training method. Working with your fascia, (that ubiquitous tissue that enfolds our whole being) nervous and muscular system to create precision of movement. Our tissue should glide like honey to enable us to live a friction free, inflammation free, pain free life. There is no front or back to a body, we are whole, round and complete. Movement is only medicine if it is done well. When the body feels threatened through poor movement patterns, it will stiffen and become painful.
A programme that can be performed by people of all ages and abilities. It re-organises our body without placing undue stress on either the joints or the heart. Creates beautiful movement and assists in injury prevention. Just some of the benefits of taking a regular Pilates class include:

-
heightened body awareness and adaptability
-
better balance between strength and flexibility
-
more efficient breath patterns
-
coordination and balance
-

-

What is the Pilates Nook Method?
The Pilates Nook's approach focuses on precise movement patterns designed to re-organise the body so it can move with ease and grace. My gift to every client is to educate them with information on what we are actually made of and then teach them how to look after themselves with the aim to avoid rehab and focus on the pre-hab. It doesn’t matter if you’re new to this or have been reaping the benefits for years, the Pilates Nook, will help you get where you want to go.

Nestled in the South Downs in Albourne, the Pilates Nook creates an experience with a sense of calm and peace, whilst benefitting from the expertise and knowledge of your instructor, who has 20+ years of experience. Whether you require rehabilitation, general movement or you would like an hour of “ME” time, Sarah’s aim is to work the body as one, with a view to focusing on the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual body plus a very important element...... the breath! You'll learn to love your feet and will be amazed how this will impact on the rest of your body!
Sarah uses a technique that ensures a better quality movement pattern which is smooth and allows a "glide" within the body. Thus resulting in a friction free, inflammation free environment. Sarah will work with your whole body along with vibration and bouncing techniques so you can move more freely.

No two sessions will be the same. Posture changes minute by minute, hour by hour, day by day, week by week, month by month and year by year. These changes will often be brought about by our environment, pain and necessity. We are not born to be symmetrical, a tree stands beautifully but doesn't have two branches the same, so why should humans have symmetry?

Invest in yourself and look after your body and mind as a whole.
