The Pilates Nook Story
Hello my name is Sarah Webster, I am the Founder of The Pilates Nook. I am a certified Stott Pilates Instructor and Myofascial Movement Therapist. My journey with Pilates started after a car accident, which left me with whiplash and severe shoulder pain. I was advised to try Pilates for rehabilitation and soon began to realise the incredible benefits of Pilates. In 2001 I commenced my training with Stott Pilates in London. I specialise in issues such as MS, Osteopenia, Osteoporosis, Breast Cancer care, Myofascial release, pre and post-natal to name a few.
Since my initial training I have continued to evolve as a teacher, seeking further knowledge with some incredible Mentors across the world who have helped me thrive immensely. As a result of that, I now believe the bio-mechanical model we follow, to understand the human body, can be unhelpful when we have fallen into poor movement patterns and is not in fact a true representation of who we are. The human body is not made up of parts and pieces, we have no front or back to our bodies, we are whole, complete, 3 dimensional and round.

I previously owned a large studio in Hove along with two partners for 13 years but since having my Daughter Olivia I decided to embark on my journey to open my own incredible bespoke studio in Albourne, with the South Downs as the backdrop. I now feel I can teach the style I truly believe brings real results for clients. Individual sessions or small groups of up to 4 participants means I can really focus on getting the best results possible for people to enjoy life to the full. Everybody is uniquely grown and different bodies respond differently to movement, and that is where I can help you develop the right tools and techniques to achieve results.

My clients often feedback that they love how informative my teaching is, enjoying the attention to detail because it makes such a difference to how they move and feel. My passion is educating clients in how to look after themselves to help prevent the need for rehabilitation and I enjoy seeing clients leave their sessions feeling refreshed, pain free and energised. My aim is to help you find a routine that works for your lifestyle and personal goals. Whether you’re new or experienced, the Pilates Nook has everything you need to assist you in achieving your goals and to maintain longevity.
